NanitchChinuk Wawa: to look, to watch over

Chip in

Entirely optional. Nothing on Nanitch is behind a paywall and nothing ever will be.

Nanitch is free, has no ads, and doesn't sell anything — including your data. It's built by one person in Portland. If the map has saved you a drive, or a spot page told you the road was closed before you found out the hard way, you're welcome to put something toward the bill.

Payment links aren't set up yet. Add your handles in site/donate.html — search for EDIT THIS AND NOTHING ELSE.

What it actually pays for

That's the whole list. There is no salary in it.

What it doesn't buy

Nothing. Deliberately. There is no supporter badge, no early access, no ad-free tier — because there are no ads to remove and nothing is locked. Everyone gets the same map whether they chip in or not, and a spot's trust level is earned by going there, never by paying.

The honest small print

Nanitch is not a registered charity and these are not tax-deductible donations — they're gifts to a person running a small app. You get no goods or services in return. Please don't send money you need.

Payments go through Venmo, PayPal or Cash App and are handled entirely by them. Nanitch never sees your card details and doesn't store anything about the payment. If you'd rather not use any of them, honestly the more useful thing is to go to a spot and write it up — that's the part money can't buy.

Prefer to give time? 122 of the places on the map have been written up by hand. The rest are real coordinates nobody has been to for us yet. Visiting one and telling us what it's actually like is worth more to this map than any amount of money, and you get credited on it permanently as the first person who did.
